Music to inspire your agile teams

Updated: Jan 29, 2019

A collection of songs to inspire your next retrospective, planning, review, or team building event.

I am always looking for new ways to engage teams and liven things up a little bit while also staying true to my personality. Music is a fun way to get everyone to let their guard down and open up.

“Music is the great uniter. An incredible force. Something that people who differ on everything and anything else can have in common.” ― Sarah Dessen

I created a playlist on Spotify which you can use to help you motivate teams, conjure up some team spirit, inspire your next #retrospective, or describe your last sprint.

Music to My Ears

If you venture on to Spotify to find the Attainable Agile playlist, you will find songs that somehow remind me of agile principles, values, methodologies or tools. I will keep adding to this playlist so I will not list every song here in this post but some of my favorite #agile songs are below.

  • Getting Better by The Beatles. Fantastic song for a retrospective.

  • Waterfalls by TLC. Stay focused on the benefits of #agile. Do not allow the old methodology creep back in.

  • Harder Better Faster Stronger by Daft Punk.

  • With a Little Help from my Friends by The Beatles.

  • This is How We Do It by Montell Jordan. Let the team be autonomous.

  • Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now by Starship.

  • We Are The Champions by Queen. This song is amazing after your team has achieved a difficult sprint #goal.

  • Stand Up by Ludacris and Shawnna.

  • Get Up, Stand Up by Bob Marley & The Wailers.

  • Beautiful Day by U2.

  • I'm Still Standing by Elton John.

  • Push It by Salt-N-Pepa. You are in the home stretch of your sprint but people are getting burnt out.

  • Let's Get It Started by The Black Eyed Peas. Great for starting your sprint!

  • The Final Countdown by Europe. It's the last day of the sprint and the team is trying to get everything done!
